A striking handmade Moroccan wool rug built around an intense cobalt-blue palette and an abstract architectural composition. The design is created through a fascinating combination of high-pile wool sections and exposed flatwoven areas. This variation in height makes the geometric pattern visible not only through color, but also through texture, light and shadow.

The composition consists of an irregular network of rectangles, vertical lines and interconnected geometric forms, almost reminiscent of an abstract architectural plan.

Rather than simply drawing these forms onto the surface, the artisan has constructed them through different weaving densities. Plush blue wool sections alternate with flatter exposed woven lines, creating a sculptural, almost three-dimensional effect.

The close-up reveals this especially well: variations in pile direction and density give every geometric section its own texture while maintaining the monochromatic character of the design.
