Handwoven by Amazigh women artisans in Morocco, this Beni Ouarain runner rug combines the warmth and tactile character of traditional Moroccan wool weaving with an unusually contemporary graphic composition.

The rug is built on a soft natural ivory wool base, crossed by fine deep indigo-blue lines that form abstract geometric shapes, elongated diamonds, open rectangles and free-flowing symbols. The irregularity of the drawing is intentional: the lines move and change as the artisan weaves, creating a composition that feels spontaneous rather than mechanically planned.

The close-up reveals its dense, beautifully uneven pile and the small variations in every line — visible traces of the hands that made it.

What It Brings to Your Home

This runner can transform a narrow or transitional area into a space with its own identity. The warm ivory wool softens hard floors and brings physical comfort underfoot, while the restrained blue drawing adds visual interest without overwhelming the room. Its long proportions naturally guide the eye through a hallway, entrance, dressing area or alongside a bed, helping spaces that can otherwise feel forgotten become warmer, calmer and more intentional.

Because the design is graphic yet minimal, it gives you character without sacrificing versatility — a piece that can live comfortably alongside contemporary furniture, natural woods, stone, linen and other quiet materials.

More Than a Rug — A Human Connection

Living with this rug also creates a connection beyond your own home. It was woven slowly by hand within an artisan cooperative, where this work supports Amazigh women and their families while helping preserve knowledge passed from one generation of weavers to the next. Its natural wool keeps another connection alive too: the relationship between the object, the human hand and the earth from which its material comes. Rather than an anonymous synthetic surface produced thousands of times, you are bringing home something shaped by natural fibres, human creativity and another culture. From the hands of an artisan in Morocco to the floor of your home, the rug becomes a small bridge between people, places and ways of living.

Each rug is:

  • Individually handwoven by Amazigh women artisans
  • Made on a traditional Moroccan loom
  • Crafted from 100% natural wool
  • Finished using traditional hand-weaving and knotting techniques
  • Naturally unique in its geometry, texture and proportions
  • Made individually and slowly — never mass-produced

Color Palette

A warm natural ivory / creamy white wool background contrasted with fine deep indigo and dark blue geometric lines.
