An authentic vintage Moroccan rug, handwoven from natural wool using traditional Amazigh weaving techniques.

This piece stands out for its exceptionally intricate geometric composition. Large interlocking diamond forms structure the central field, filled with smaller latticework and abstract Amazigh motifs, while a richly patterned border frames the entire design.

Its most distinctive feature is the color: a beautifully aged indigo / faded denim blue woven over a warm sand and cream ground, with subtle traces of dusty rose appearing throughout. Decades of use have softened both the wool and pigments, giving the rug its wonderfully muted, almost washed appearance.

What It Brings to Your Home

This is the kind of vintage rug that can give a room character without relying on strong color.

The faded blue pattern has enough definition to bring depth, rhythm and architectural structure, while the warm neutral background keeps the overall effect calm and sophisticated.

At 290 × 195 cm, it is particularly well suited to anchoring a living room or sitting area. Against pale woods, linen, plaster, stone or neutral upholstery, the aged blue becomes the focal point without dominating the space.

It is an especially beautiful alternative for someone who loves the visual richness of Moroccan rugs but wants something softer and more understated than the traditional reds and oranges.

More Than a Rug — A Human Connection

The small variations visible throughout the pattern are part of the language of handmade Amazigh textiles.

Rather than following the mechanical repetition of an industrial design, the motifs develop across the loom with subtle changes in scale, spacing and form. Those irregularities preserve the hand of the woman who originally created it.

Time has subsequently transformed the piece again. Areas of softened pile, fading and exposed weave now sit alongside the original pattern, creating a surface that could never be reproduced exactly.

It is not simply a decorative interpretation of a vintage Moroccan rug — it is the original object, carrying decades of material history with it.

Each rug is:

  • Individually handwoven in Morocco
  • Made using traditional Amazigh techniques
  • Crafted from natural sheep wool
  • An authentic vintage piece
  • Naturally aged and softened over decades
  • Characterized by handmade irregularities
  • Never mass-produced
  • One of a kind

Color Palette

Faded indigo blue, dusty denim, warm cream, sand, pale beige and subtle touches of dusty rose.

The naturally aged pigmentation creates considerable tonal variation across the surface, which becomes especially visible when the rug is viewed from different angles and under changing light.

Interior Style Compatibility

Beautiful in Mediterranean, wabi-sabi, organic modern, rustic, eclectic, contemporary, bohemian and collected interiors.

The faded blue makes it particularly effective with warm white or limewash walls, oak and walnut, linen upholstery, travertine, limestone, terracotta and other natural materials.

It could also work beautifully in an otherwise minimalist room, where its intricate geometry provides the detail while the restrained palette keeps the space serene.
