An authentic vintage Moroccan rug, entirely handwoven from natural wool using traditional Amazigh weaving techniques.

Its composition is particularly distinctive: repeated diamond-shaped geometric forms emerge through a finely detailed field of faded motifs, framed by narrow decorative borders. Soft terracotta and dusty rose shapes contrast with touches of turquoise, faded blue and green, all mellowed beautifully by age.

The relatively low, time-worn pile reveals more of the underlying weave and gives the rug the wonderfully intricate, almost tapestry-like surface that makes vintage Moroccan textiles so compelling.

What It Brings to Your Home

This rug brings color without overwhelming the room.

Its pigments have softened with time into a sophisticated, sun-faded palette. From a distance, warm sand and muted terracotta dominate; closer up, turquoise, blue and green details begin to appear throughout the weave.

At 265 × 205 cm, it has enough presence to anchor a living room, bedroom or dining area while remaining easy to integrate into an existing interior. It works especially well when a neutral space needs something with character, history and subtle color rather than a bold contemporary statement.

The intricate pattern also makes it a beautiful counterpoint to simple furniture and natural materials.

More Than a Rug — A Human Connection

Vintage Moroccan rugs were never conceived as identical decorative objects. Each one was woven individually, allowing its maker to develop patterns, colors and rhythms directly on the loom.

That human irregularity remains visible here. Look closely and the geometry shifts subtly, motifs change and colors move across the surface — details that distinguish handwoven textiles from machine-made reproductions.

Decades later, natural wear has added another layer to the original work. The softened wool and faded pigments tell the story of an object that has already lived a life and is now ready to continue it in another home.

Its natural wool also preserves a direct connection to the materials and landscapes at the heart of Amazigh textile traditions.

Each rug is:

  • Individually handwoven in Morocco
  • Made using traditional Amazigh weaving techniques
  • Crafted from natural sheep wool
  • An authentic vintage piece
  • Naturally aged with beautiful variations in pile and pigmentation
  • Characterized by subtle irregularities inherent to hand weaving
  • Never mass-produced
  • One of a kind

Color Palette

Warm sand, faded terracotta, dusty rose, turquoise, soft blue, muted green and dark earthy brown.

Time has softened the original pigments considerably, creating the washed and nuanced coloration visible today. The turquoise and green details are particularly beautiful against the warmer faded background.

Interior Style Compatibility

A strong choice for Mediterranean, wabi-sabi, eclectic, organic modern, rustic, bohemian, contemporary and collected interiors.

Its palette works especially well with warm plaster or limewash walls, aged wood, travertine, limestone, linen, leather and other natural materials.

Because the colors are so faded, it can also introduce pattern into minimalist interiors without making the space feel busy.
