Handwoven in Morocco in the 1970s, this authentic vintage Beni M’Guild rug is made from 100% natural sheep wool using traditional Amazigh weaving techniques.

What makes this piece particularly beautiful is what time has done to it. Its original pattern has softened dramatically over the decades, leaving an almost ethereal composition of powder blue, faded rose and warm sandy ivory. Beneath the heavily aged pile, traces of geometric motifs remain visible, giving the surface a layered, almost painterly quality.

Rather than the strong saturated colors often associated with Beni M’Guild rugs, this piece has evolved into a remarkably quiet and nuanced textile — its wear, faded pigments and irregular wool surface forming part of its unique character.

What It Brings to Your Home

This is a vintage rug for interiors where you want texture and history without visual heaviness.

Its muted palette behaves almost like a neutral, but with far more depth. From a distance, the rug reads as warm ivory and sand; closer up, faded blue and blush tones emerge through the wool, together with fragments of its original geometric design.

The result is understated and sophisticated. It can soften the clean architecture of a contemporary room, add warmth to a minimalist space or sit naturally among antique and collected furniture.

At 305 × 200 cm, it is also a particularly versatile large format for anchoring a living room, dining area or bedroom.

More Than a Rug — A Human Connection

A vintage rug carries something a newly made object simply cannot: time.

This Beni M’Guild was woven approximately half a century ago by an Amazigh artisan. Its faded colors, irregular pile and visible traces of its original pattern record decades of use and form part of the rug rather than imperfections to be concealed.

Traditional Moroccan rugs were created slowly from local wool, with weaving knowledge transmitted between generations. Preserving an original piece today allows that craftsmanship to continue its life in another home.

Its natural sheep wool creates another connection — to the landscape, animals and materials that have sustained Amazigh weaving traditions for generations.

There will never be another rug with precisely this combination of weave, wear, color and history.

Each rug is:

  • Individually handwoven by Amazigh women artisans
  • Made in Morocco on a traditional loom
  • Crafted from 100% natural sheep wool
  • An authentic 1970s vintage piece
  • Naturally aged and softened over approximately 50 years
  • Characterized by variations in pile, weave and pigmentation
  • Never mass-produced
  • One of a kind

Color Palette

Warm ivory, sand, faded powder blue and soft dusty rose.

The colors have mellowed significantly with age, creating a washed, almost sun-faded appearance. Rather than sharp contrast, the palette blends softly across the surface, allowing fragments of the original pattern to appear and disappear depending on the light and viewing angle.

Interior Style Compatibility

Especially suited to wabi-sabi, contemporary, Mediterranean, organic modern, minimalist, rustic, Belgian-inspired, Scandinavian and eclectic interiors.

Its restrained palette pairs beautifully with limewash and plaster walls, travertine, limestone, raw or aged wood, linen, bouclé, leather and other natural materials.

This is also a particularly strong piece for interiors built around warm neutrals: the subtle blue and faded rose introduce color without disturbing a calm, tonal scheme.

This rug shows significant natural wear and pile variation consistent with its age, which is clearly visible across the surface and forms an important part of its aesthetic. Areas of the original design have become softened and partially exposed through decades of use.

These characteristics are part of the rug's history and make every section of its surface unique.
