A distinctive handmade Beni Ouarain rug that moves away from the familiar diamond pattern and explores a much more architectural interpretation of Amazigh geometry.

Handwoven in natural ivory sheep wool, the rug features a delicate charcoal-grey linear composition formed by elongated geometric paths, branching structures and small symbolic motifs. The restrained palette gives the piece a quiet, sophisticated presence while allowing the hand-drawn quality of the design to remain visible.

Design & Texture

The composition is especially interesting for its linear, almost architectural geometry.

Long vertical lines travel through the rug before dividing, narrowing and reconnecting into angular forms. Some resemble branching paths or abstract architectural structures, while a small group of handwoven geometric symbols appears independently toward one side.

The asymmetry is intentional to the visual character of the piece: the motifs do not follow a rigid machine-made grid. Their subtle variations reveal the movement of the artisan's hand across the loom.

The close-up also shows the dense, soft wool pile and the slightly irregular grey lines embedded within it — details that give an authentic handwoven rug its depth and individuality.

Instead of the classic repeating Beni Ouarain diamonds, the artisan has created a freer geometric language using only fine charcoal lines against natural wool. From a distance, the composition has the presence of an abstract drawing; closer up, the irregular knots and subtle variations reveal its handmade origin.

The result is a quiet statement piece — ideal for an interior where texture, craftsmanship and authentic materials matter more than decoration alone.
