Handwoven in Morocco by Amazigh women artisans in our own cooperative, this one-of-a-kind textile artwork is part of an original creative concept developed by Kenza & Co to bring traditional Moroccan weaving into a new artistic format.

We wanted to explore another way of experiencing the beauty of a handmade Berber rug: not only as a textile for the floor, but as an individual artwork designed to be displayed and appreciated on the wall.

The rug is woven entirely by hand from 100% natural sheep wool using traditional Moroccan techniques and weaving knowledge passed down through generations.

This particular piece is defined by a soft pink background crossed by bold cobalt blue forms, black linear details and small vivid fuchsia accents. The composition feels spontaneous and graphic, with irregular shapes, broken lines and open areas creating a sense of movement across the surface.

The large cobalt forms give the artwork visual weight, while the black lines introduce structure and contrast. Small fuchsia details punctuate the composition and add energy without overwhelming the softer pink field.

Nothing follows perfect symmetry or mechanical repetition. Variations in line, pile and geometry are part of the artisan's creative process and give the textile its expressive character.

The original handmade edges and fringe remain visible, preserving the identity of the rug and emphasizing its handcrafted origin.

Once woven, the textile is carefully mounted inside a solid walnut wood frame with a deep black finish. Walnut was chosen for its strength, durability and long-lasting quality, while the dark finish creates a strong contemporary border around the colorful composition.

A discreet hanging fixture is already installed on the back, so the artwork arrives ready to hang directly on the wall.

The result sits naturally between traditional Moroccan weaving, contemporary textile art and abstract wall art.

What It Brings to Your Home

This piece brings color, personality and a strong artistic presence into a room.

The pink background immediately softens the composition, while the cobalt blue introduces depth and contrast. Black gives the design structure and the smaller fuchsia details add a playful accent.

From a distance, the composition can read almost like a contemporary abstract painting. Up close, the irregular pile, visible knots and changing texture of the wool reveal the craftsmanship behind the piece.

The dark frame sharpens the overall composition and helps the pink and blue tones stand out even more strongly.

It works especially well in neutral interiors, where it can become the main focal point, but it can also complement spaces already featuring color, contemporary art or sculptural furniture.

Displayed above a console, sideboard, bed or smaller sofa, it brings together the tactile warmth of Moroccan weaving and the visual impact of modern abstract art.

More Than Wall Art — A Human Connection

This collection was created by Kenza & Co as a new way of celebrating Moroccan rug weaving while preserving the human story behind every piece.

Each textile is slowly handwoven in our own cooperative by Amazigh women artisans using techniques and knowledge transmitted between generations. There is no industrial production, digital printing or mechanical repetition involved.

Every line, color transition and irregular shape reflects the hands and creative decisions of the woman who made it.

In this piece, that creative freedom is especially visible. The cobalt and black forms are not copied from a fixed template or repeated with mathematical precision. They develop naturally on the loom, giving the artwork the spontaneity of an original composition.

By bringing the rug from the floor to the wall, these details become even more visible. The wool, irregular geometry, color and fringe can be appreciated almost as you would observe the brushwork and texture of a painting.

Through this creative project, we wanted to offer a contemporary expression of Moroccan textile art while continuing to support the artisans and families behind the craft and helping traditional weaving remain a living skill.

The use of natural sheep wool also maintains an important connection to the Moroccan landscape and to the materials that have sustained this textile tradition for generations.

Every textile develops differently on the loom, and every finished artwork is individually selected, mounted and framed.

Color Palette

Soft pink wool with cobalt blue, black and vivid fuchsia accents, framed in deep black-finished walnut wood.

A bold but balanced palette in which soft pink creates warmth while cobalt blue and black introduce contrast and structure.

The smaller fuchsia details add energy and give the composition a playful, contemporary character.

Interior Style Compatibility

Especially suited to contemporary, eclectic, artistic, modernist, Scandinavian and modern organic interiors.

It pairs beautifully with walnut, oak, travertine, limestone, plaster walls, microcement, linen, bouclé, ceramics and natural leather.

The pink and cobalt combination works particularly well in neutral interiors, where it can become a strong statement piece, while the black details help connect the artwork with darker furniture, lighting or architectural elements.

It also works beautifully alongside contemporary art, sculptural furniture and collected objects.
