Handwoven in Morocco by Amazigh women artisans in our own cooperative, this one-of-a-kind textile artwork is part of an original creative concept developed by Kenza & Co to bring traditional Moroccan weaving into a new artistic format.

We wanted to explore another way of experiencing the beauty of a handmade Berber rug: not only as a textile for the floor, but as an individual artwork designed to be displayed and appreciated on the wall.

The rug is woven entirely by hand from 100% natural sheep wool using traditional Moroccan techniques and weaving knowledge passed down through generations.

This particular piece features a warm natural ivory background crossed by deep brown vertical lines, irregular rectangular forms and small graphic motifs. The composition feels structured at first glance, yet closer inspection reveals the subtle asymmetry and spontaneous variations that make handmade Moroccan weaving so distinctive.

Small touches of pink and green appear along the woven edges, adding an unexpected detail to an otherwise earthy and understated palette.

The original handmade fringe remains visible at the bottom, preserving the textile identity of the rug and reinforcing the feeling that this is not a conventional framed picture, but a genuine woven object.

Once completed, the textile is carefully mounted inside a solid walnut wood frame. Walnut was chosen for its strength, durability, beautiful natural grain and timeless character. Its warm brown tone echoes the geometric lines of the rug and gives the artwork a cohesive, gallery-like presence.

The handmade edges and fringe remain visible rather than being concealed behind the frame.

A discreet hanging fixture is already installed on the back, so the artwork arrives ready to hang directly on the wall.

The result sits naturally between traditional Moroccan weaving, contemporary textile art and sculptural wall decoration.

What It Brings to Your Home

This artwork brings graphic character and handcrafted warmth into an interior without relying on strong color.

Its combination of natural ivory, dark brown and walnut creates a calm, earthy palette, while the irregular geometry gives the piece enough visual rhythm to become a focal point.

From a distance, the repeated vertical lines and abstract forms give the composition an architectural quality. Up close, the wool pile, uneven geometry, handmade fringe and tiny flashes of color reveal the human hand behind the piece.

The walnut frame reinforces its warm, grounded character and makes it especially easy to combine with natural materials and neutral interiors.

It works beautifully above a console, sideboard, bed or smaller sofa, or as part of a curated wall combining art, photography, ceramics and collected objects.

For interiors built around beige, cream, brown, stone and wood, this piece adds depth and pattern while maintaining a quiet and sophisticated atmosphere.

More Than Wall Art — A Human Connection

This collection was created by Kenza & Co as a new way of celebrating Moroccan rug weaving while preserving the human story behind every piece.

Each textile is slowly handwoven in our own cooperative by Amazigh women artisans using techniques and knowledge transmitted between generations. There is no industrial production, digital printing or mechanical repetition involved.

Every line, shape and small variation is created directly on the loom and reflects the hands of the woman who made it.

In this piece, the irregular spacing of the geometric forms and the subtle differences from one section to another make that human presence particularly visible. The design is not mechanically mirrored or standardized; it develops naturally during the weaving process.

By moving the rug from the floor to the wall, these details become even more visible. The wool, geometry, fringe and subtle color accents can be appreciated almost as you would study the surface and composition of a painting.

Through this creative project, we wanted to offer a contemporary expression of Moroccan textile art while continuing to support the artisans and families behind the craft and helping traditional weaving remain a living skill.

The use of natural sheep wool also maintains an important connection to the Moroccan landscape and to the materials that have sustained this textile tradition for generations.

Every textile develops differently on the loom, and every finished artwork is individually selected, mounted and framed.

Color Palette

Natural ivory wool with deep brown geometric lines and subtle pink and green accents, framed in warm walnut wood.

An earthy and understated palette that combines the softness of natural wool with the depth of brown and the warmth of walnut.

The tiny colored details along the woven edges add a discreet and playful contrast without changing the calm character of the composition.

Interior Style Compatibility

Especially suited to contemporary, modern organic, Mediterranean, wabi-sabi, Scandinavian, Japandi, rustic-modern and eclectic interiors.

It pairs beautifully with walnut, oak, travertine, limestone, plaster walls, microcement, linen, bouclé, ceramics and natural leather.

Its brown and ivory palette works particularly well in warm neutral interiors, while the graphic pattern introduces enough structure to complement modernist and sculptural furniture.

It is especially effective in spaces where texture and natural materials are more important than strong color.
