Handwoven in Morocco by Amazigh women artisans in our own cooperative, this one-of-a-kind textile artwork is part of an original creative concept developed by Kenza & Co to bring traditional Moroccan weaving into a new artistic format.
We wanted to explore another way of experiencing the beauty of a handmade Moroccan rug: not only as a piece for the floor, but as textile art designed to be displayed, observed and appreciated on the wall.
The central textile is woven entirely by hand from 100% natural sheep wool using traditional Moroccan techniques and weaving knowledge passed down through generations.
Against its warm natural ivory background, irregular black diamond forms and intersecting lines create a striking geometric composition. The subtle differences in line thickness, symmetry, pile and wool tone are the natural result of working entirely by hand and give the artwork its unique character.
Once woven, the textile is carefully mounted inside a solid walnut wood frame. Walnut was chosen for its strength, durability, beautiful natural grain and timeless character. Its substantial construction gives the artwork a refined, gallery-like presence while creating a warm contrast with the softness of the wool.
The original handmade edges and fringe remain visible, allowing the textile to retain the character and irregular beauty of the rug rather than hiding it behind the frame.
A discreet hanging fixture is already installed on the back, so the artwork arrives ready to hang directly on the wall.
The result is a piece that sits naturally between traditional Moroccan textile, sculptural object and contemporary wall art.
This artwork brings the warmth, texture and human character of a handmade Moroccan rug into a completely new dimension.
Its natural ivory and black palette gives it a strong graphic presence while remaining remarkably versatile. From a distance, the geometric design can read almost like an abstract painting. As you move closer, the depth of the wool, the irregular knots, the subtle variations and the handmade fringe reveal the textile craftsmanship behind the piece.
The walnut frame adds warmth and architectural definition, transforming the woven surface into a finished artwork with real presence on the wall.
It works beautifully as a stand-alone statement piece above a console, sideboard, sofa or bed, but can also become part of a curated composition alongside paintings, photography, ceramics and collected objects.
The simplicity of the palette makes it easy to live with: visually distinctive enough to draw the eye, yet calm and natural enough to integrate effortlessly into the room.
This collection was created by Kenza & Co as a new way of celebrating Moroccan weaving while preserving the human story at the heart of every piece.
Each textile is slowly handwoven in our own cooperative by Amazigh women artisans using techniques and knowledge transmitted between generations. There is no industrial production, digital printing or mechanical repetition involved.
Every knot, change in line and slight irregularity reflects the hands of the woman who created it.
By bringing the textile from the floor to the wall, these details become even more visible. The wool, geometry, fringe and surface can be appreciated almost as you would observe the brushstrokes and texture of a painting.
Through this creative project, we wanted to offer a new expression of Moroccan textile art while continuing to support the artisans and families behind the craft and helping preserve traditional weaving as a living skill.
The use of natural sheep wool maintains another important connection: to the Moroccan landscape and to the natural materials that have sustained this textile tradition for generations.
Every textile develops differently on the loom, and every finished artwork is individually selected, mounted and framed.

Natural ivory wool with deep black geometric lines, framed in rich natural walnut wood.
A timeless combination that balances the softness of natural wool with the graphic strength of black and the warmth of walnut.
The contrast gives the traditional Moroccan geometry a distinctly contemporary character while keeping the overall piece natural, refined and understated.
Especially suited to contemporary, modern organic, minimalist, Mediterranean, Scandinavian, Japandi, wabi-sabi and eclectic interiors.
It pairs beautifully with walnut, oak, travertine, limestone, plaster walls, microcement, linen, bouclé, ceramics and natural leather.
Its combination of tactile wool, simple geometry and natural wood works particularly well alongside modernist and sculptural furniture, bringing warmth, texture and handcrafted character into interiors with clean architectural lines.
